MANSA successfully organises 38th AGM and felicitates Top STAR Performers

MUMBAI: In the august presence of the maritime fraternity, Standard Operating Procedures for JNPT were released at the hands of the JNPT Deputy Chairman Neeraj Bansal, IRS and also CISF procedures for Mumbai Port Trust by its Chairman Sanjay Bhatia, IAS at the 38th Annual General Meeting of MANSA held in Mumbai.

Later, spelling out the plans for the next two years, MANSA President, Capt. Vivek Anand addressing members at the 38th Annual General Meeting said, “We have chalk0ed out plans to submit two white papers to the Ministry of Shipping.

The first would be Sustainable development goals for Indian Maritime Industry based on United National Guidelines and the second would be Development of Hinterland connectivity, Multi modal Logistics and Coastal Shipping in India.”

MANSA will also take forward its partnership with APZI (Port of Zeebruggee, Belgium) and holding talks with Singapore Ship-agents association to enable benchmark MANSA at international level and adopt best international practices and procedures along with sharing information and data, Captain Anand said, addressing members at the meeting.

The Chief Guest of this gala function was a well known Actor Mr. Boman Irani, who enthralled the august gathering by the hilarious memories of his past bollywood career along with a piece of advice of following ones heart in achieving the success in their future endevours.

Appreciating the contribution from Young MANSA Forum (YMF) going beyond immense contribution towards bringing out manuals, SOPs, etc, Captain Anand also called upon giving MANSA’s abbreviation a national character by proposing to rename itself as Maritime Association of Nationwide Shipping Agencies from the prevailing Mumbai and Nhava-Sheva Ship-Agents Association (MANSA).

The event also witnessed the felicitations of performers across categories including the two nominated awards being conferred to Late L. D. Parekh, Parekh Group of Companies with "The R. S. Cooper Lifetime Achievement Award" and Capt. Avinash C. Batra, Seahorse Group Chairman with the “Past President’s Award” for his exemplary contribution to the Shipping and Logistics sector in India.
