Mumbai and Nhava-Sheva Ship Agents Association (MANSA), recently completed 39 years of being a vigilant voice for all its members in the shipping industry. To mark the occasion MANSA held its Annual General Meeting on the 1st of September 2016 at the St. Regis Hotel, Lower Parel, Mumbai.
It was a well-attended meet that witnessed the release of an important White Paper on India’s Multimodal Logistics with Hinterland Connectivity by Coastal Shipping. The White Paper was released by Mr. Saurabh Roy and Mr. Satish Todurkar both YMF members, along with MANSA President Capt.Vivek Anand.
In an announcement that came as a very pleasant surprise and was met with appreciative applause, the President surprised the MANSA Secretariat Staff Mrs. Medha M. Chipkar and Mr. Shashikant S. Dingankar on the special occasion of their completion of 30 years of sincere service, and requested the Jury to give them each a special Memento and a gift cheque.
Three YMF Members Mr. Kaevan Katki, Mr. Jeevan C. P. Elayath and Mr. Ajinkya Dhamale were also awarded with a Special Memento for their dedication and hard work.
Ms. Sanjam Sahi Gupta, WISTA President was also felicitated on her appointment as a Member of the Executive Board of the World Maritime University – IMO Wing.
Mr. Dinesh Lal was awarded the coveted “The Past Presidents' Award for Exemplary Contribution to Shipping & Logistics” for his contribution in various capacities during his career.
The very prestigious "R. S. Cooper Life Time Achievement Award” was conferred on Mr. Vaishnav Puri Chairman and Managing Director, Seaworld Shipping & Logistics and he and his immediate family were there on stage on accept the award.
Mr. Puri spoke about how he grew his business over the years, how major liners played a very important role in the shipping business within India.
He aslo advised agents to look into opportunities to diversify their business.
